Headmaster's Chair

Provenance

Geoff Southern writes:

During the period 1960-61, Alan Cadel, Tom Nicholls and I built an oak chair for the headmaster, Mr. J. R. (The Baz) Edwards, M.A. This was constructed in the woodwork shop under the instruction/assistance of Mr. Noel (Neddy) Lloyd who also carved the LI motif. The chair was used on the stage in the hall for many years.

Ben Jackson now owns this chair and Neville Hunter provided the photograph.

Anyone have any idea regarding the occassion for this photo?

Whatever happened to the headmaster's table that stood in the hall? It had a carved inscription on the front to the effect that it was to commemorate the 1953 coronation. The table and chair were really companion pieces.
